Description
Elliptical gear flowmeter (also known as displacement flowmeter, gear flowmeter), belongs to a positive displacement flowmeter, which is a class of high accuracy in flow meters. It uses a mechanical measuring element to continuously divide the fluid into a single known volume portion, and measures the total flow volume according to the number of times the metering chamber fills and discharges the fluid in that volume portion successively and repeatedly. The elliptical gear flow meter can be made of different materials (cast iron, cast steel, 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel), which is suitable for flow measurement in chemical, petroleum, medicine, electric power, metallurgy and food and other industrial sectors.
INTRODUCTION
The flow meter is composed of a measuring box and a pair of elliptical gears installed in the measuring box, and the upper and lower cover plates constitute a sealed initial moon shaped cavity (due to the rotation of the gear, so it is not relatively sealed) as a calculation unit of a displacement.
When the measured liquid enters the flow time through the pipeline, due to the pressure difference generated at the inlet and outlet, a pair of gears are continuously rotated, and the liquid measured after the initial moon cavity is continuously transported to the outlet, and the product of the number of revolutions of the elliptical gear and four times each displacement is the total amount of the measured liquid flow (see the figure for the principle). The flowmeter is mainly composed of a shell, a counter, an elliptical gear and a coupling (a magnetic coupling and an axial coupling).
