V-cone flowmeter belongs to the side wall shrinkage throttling device. It is a flow meter based on differential pressure principle for flow measurement. Its structure is to suspend a V-shaped cone in the center of the pipe, which is coaxial with the pipe. As the fluid passes through, the V-shaped cone gradually constricts the fluid to the inner side wall of the pipe. The V-shaped cone flow sensor and differential pressure transmitter, display instrument (or computer) can realize the flow measurement. The special structure of the V-shaped cone has many advantages: such as short straight pipe section requirements, suitable for the measurement of dirty media, good repeatability, long service life relative to the hole plate, and so on. ● The required straight pipe section is short: The special structure of the V-shaped cone can weaken the convex shape in the velocity distribution, so that it has the characteristics of rectification. It is this self-rectifying characteristic that greatly reduces the requirements for the front and back straight pipe sections. Generally 0 ~ 3D upstream, 0 ~ 1D downstream.
● Long service life, good long-term stability: V-shaped cone has the function of self-mixer. When the heterogeneous fluid flows through the V-shaped cone, the heterogeneous fluid will self-mix and become a homogeneous fluid, so as to achieve effective flow measurement.
● Repeatability is about 0.1%, the uncertainty of outflow coefficient is ± 0.5% : the relative pressure loss of the V-shaped cone is lower than that of the orifice plate, and the overall differential pressure of the V-shaped cone is lower than that of the orifice plate (under the same working condition and β value), so the overall pressure loss of the V-shaped cone is lower than that of the orifice plate.
